We had an awfully windy day this past Tuesday. The day started with Brynn going to daycare and me running to my parents house to get the dogs hair cut. For those who are unfamiliar with my parents house, we do not get cell phone reception there. When the dogs were done and I was leaving my parents house, I saw a text message telling me Brynn's house had blown into the road. For those of you who don't remember or haven't viewed this blog for that long here is a picture of Brynn's house.
Needless to say I was stuck an hour away and had no idea when this message was sent and if her house was still in the road. I called my neighbor who had sent me the message.. She said she gathered the pieces... (oh no pieces) and put them in her garage. Turns out only one wall of her house is connected to anything. In the picture below we are seeing the back wall of the front of the house, this is the wall that is connected. The wall you see on the left side of the house is not attached, it is only supporting the roof in our garage.
In this picture if you look closely you can see the screws that were attached to the roof, the wind stripped all of these screws...
So, I came home, got Brynn from daycare and had the whole evening/night with the girls because Matt had a football game. Brynn attempted to sleep with her dog Ella, because she was scared of the wind. (she kept calling it thunder). And eventually our power went out at 10:00. Bed ended up happening at 10 pm for everyone in Mom's bed with a movie playing on the computer until it died. Brynn did love having flashlights and getting to shine them everywhere. And I am happy we had just bought flashlights that weekend and could locate them when the power went out.
